Golden Ropers are vicious creatures that stalk their prey and prefer to attack at night. They use their tentacles to draw their prey away from anything they are protecting.
Golden Ropers live in forests and grass lands. They are mainly solitary creatures but have been known to hunt in packs when times are desperate. They will stalk their prey for days waiting for the right time to strike. They wait until the cover of night to sneak up on their prey.
Golden Ropers are not overly intelligent but they are quick-witted. They are able to assess a situation quickly and if they feel that a hunt or combat is going to go poorly they will retreat and either give up on their prey or come back at a more opportune time.
Communities that live near Golden Roper are in constant fear of them. They are often depicted as demons or villains in any legends that reference them. They are almost never worshipped outside of death cults.

Special Characteristics
  • Padded Feet: Golden Ropers have Advantage on Stealth rolls.
  • Hidden Attacker: If a Golden Roper misses an Attack while Hidden, they remain Hidden.
  • Leaper: Double Successes on Athletics rolls made to jump.

A Golden Roper will maintain its distance with Tentacle Attacks until it feels that a Foe is weakened enough. It will then pull the target into melee range to finish it off with Bite and Claw Attacks.

Night Out on the Town – A small pack of Golden Ropers have gotten into a poor, dense area of the city and are attacking people.
